Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Geronimo, OK, Monday, September 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. John Cullison officiating with burial in the Faxon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Evelyn Ethel Phillips was born to Jesse Richard and Edna N. (Wilmot) Curtsinger on October 31, 1927 at Chattanooga, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on September 20, 2018 at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Evelyn grew up in Chattanooga, Faxon and Central, graduating from Central High.

She married Clarence Lester Phillips on February 27, 1949 at Lawton and to the union 4 sons were born. They made their home in Lawton before moving to Geronimo in 1961.

She was a member of Geronimo First Baptist Church serving as a church hostess and nursery coordinator. In their early years she and Clarence enjoyed keeping a large garden and Evelyn loved to quilt. They enjoyed traveling the country on their many bus tours. She was a member of the Good Neighbors Club, worked at Geronimo’s Free Closet and worked elections for many years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; 2 brothers, Elwood Cravey and Alfred Curtsinger; and her sister, Mildred Hill.

She is survived by her 4 sons, Mikeal Phillips and Sherry of Geronimo, Daryll Phillips and Valinda of Cache, Mark Phillips of Geronimo, Terry Phillips and Laura of Geronimo; her sister-in-law, Roberta Curtsinger of Geronimo; her brother-in-law, Frank Wesley Phillips, Jr. of Baytown, TX; 6 grandchildren, Trenton Phillips, Wesley Phillips and Andrea, Michelle Sharp and Jared, Joshua Phillips and Misty, Amanda Phillips and April Phillips; 8 great grandchildren, Madisen, Evan, Trentley, Gehrig, Kade, Karter, Tucker and Wyatt; other relatives and friends.
