Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Ray Garcia officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Hart-Wyatt.

Mary Kathrine Vannoy was born to Mary Louise (Thomas) and Julius Lemuel Bowen, Sr. on March 7, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, IN and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on April 29, 2018 at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 22 days.

Mary grew up in the Sawyer area of Southeastern Oklahoma. She married Johnny Thomas Vannoy, Jr. on October 22, 1961. They made their home in Columbus, OH and Houston, TX for a short time before settling in Walters, OK and eventually Geronimo, OK. They have recently moved to Fletcher, OK. She enjoyed bowling and volunteering on projects for young women. She also enjoyed staying busy with church activities through the years and was a member of The Impact Center of Lawton.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Julius L. Bowen; her mother, Mary Louise (Thomas) Swink; and her brother, Julius L. Bowen, II.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Vannoy of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Thomas Vannoy and Leah of Geronimo, OK; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Louise (Vannoy) Johnson and Paul of Fletcher, OK; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Sean and Cassandra Vannoy, Sarah and Patrick Nolan, Dalton Gardipe, Serena Vannoy, Sammy Vannoy Jr., Clarissa Allen, Shelby and Kyle Wilkins, Marcus Johnson, Isabella and Brandon Thomas, Nikkola Lowe and Joseph Johnson; 5 great grandchildren, and 1 on the way; other relatives and many friends.
