Theta Boren, 100, Temple, OK
Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Temple, OK, Wednesday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Larry Shields and Rev. Jay Driskill Officiating with interment in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Hospice of Wichita Falls or First Baptist Church, Temple, OK.
Theta Dollie (Clingman) Boren was born November 12, 1917 east of Walters, OK, to Edward Benjamin and Dora Leah (Johnson) Clingman and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on April 15, 2018 at the age of 100 years, 5 months and 3 days.
The twelfth of fifteen children, Theta grew up at Walters, Temple and Lindsay, OK. She married Hoyt Juan Boren on April 17, 1938 and to the union 5 children were born. Through the years she worked at Yielding’s Department Store, Scott’s Level Best, Haggar Slacks, waitressed in Lindsay, and eventually retired after several years as a Store Manager for 7-Eleven Corporation. She enjoyed doing puzzles, word search, yard work and loved music, playing the guitar and piano. Theta was a member of the Home Demonstration Club for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.B. and Dora; her son, Garland Ray Boren; and all 14 of her Clingman siblings.
Survivors include 4 children and their spouses, Darlene Boren Morgan Skinner of Wichita Falls, TX, Donald Roy Boren and Linda of Wills Point, TX, Hoyt Dwain Boren and Sharon of Broken Arrow, OK, Theta Diann Boren Sullivan and Dave of Houston, TX; numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
