Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Saturday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Roger Noland officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home with burial in the Walters Cemetery.

 

 

Savannah Nicole (McCarty) Benefiel was born to Timothy Dale and Carolyn Sue (Dorman) McCarty on May 18, 1986 in Amarillo, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 22, 2017 at the age of 31 years, 7 months and 4 days.

 

Savannah grew up at Elk City, OK before moving to Walters where she attended 7th-12th grades. After graduating from WHS in 2005 she worked various jobs to include assistant manager at McDonalds. She eventually received her nursing degree from Platt College and worked for Dr. Hickman in Walters before working at Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton as an LPN for the past 5 years.

 

She married Rocky Lee Benefiel on March 18, 2011 in Lawton, OK and they have been raising 3 sons in Walters. She was a momma’s girl, was family oriented and was a sports mom making sure her boys were involved in baseball, football and basketball. Savannah was a clean freak. She enjoyed doing crafts and loved her pets. The family attended Open Door Church of God.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn (Dorman) Fento, and her father, Tim McCarty.

 

Survivors include, her husband, Rocky Benefiel of the home; her 3 sons, Jordan Timothy DeMoss, Austin Lee Benefiel and Gage Michael Benefiel all of the home; her stepdaughter, Alexandra Noelle Benefiel of Erick, OK; her sister, Leaila Lance and husband Carl of Duncan, OK and their children, McKenzie, Carlea, Madison and Carson; her stepdad, Terry Steven Fento of Walters; her step sisters, Dena Gennings and husband James of Killeen, TX and Cheryl Foster of Joshua, TX and their families; her grandparents, Lila and Richard McCarty of Amarillo, TX; her mother-in-law, Pamela Callen of Walters; her sister-in-law, Misty Brinkley of Walters; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
