Memorial Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Tuesday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Jay Driskill officiating.

 

 

Clarence Don McGee was born to George Lester and Meta Kathleen (Chambers) McGee on March 2, 1930 at Temple, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on November 16, 2017 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 14 days.

 

Don grew up at Temple, the youngest of 7 children. He graduated from Temple High School in 1948 and then attended a year at Oklahoma A&M (OSU). He married Joyce Williams on December 24, 1950 and would have been married 67 years next month. Don served his country in the U.S. Army during the time of the Korean War. He worked many years at Yielding’s Department Store before going to work for the Cotton Electric Coop. He retired in 1992 after 26 years with the company.

 

Don had served on the Temple School Board and enjoyed attending THS sporting events through the years. He also enjoyed fishing, dominos, daily trips to Hop-n-Sack and spending time with his grandkids.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Cecil, Louis and Jack McGee; and 2 sisters, Erpha Knapp and Lois James.

 

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; 2 daughters, Debbie Graham and husband Billy of Temple, Denise Ebersbach and Mark of Edmond, OK; grandson Gordon Williams and great granddaughter Daisy of Rush, KY; grandsons Max and Jack Ebersbach of Edmond; a sister, Noma Jennings of Snyder, OK; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
