Cecil Loyd Rupe was born to Henry Loyd and Georgia Lavon (Irvin) Rupe on March 5, 1930 at Walters and departed this life in Jacksboro, TX on August 17, 2017 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Cecil grew up in the Cookietown, OK, community and graduated from Union Valley High School in 1948. He married Pearl Ella Pursley in 1950 and to the union 3 sons were born. Cecil made his home in Walters, OK from 1951 to 2002 and was employed as a toll booth attendant for the H.E. Bailey Turnpike for 33 years. He lived in Lawton for 2 years and then made his home in Jacksboro, TX since 2005.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean War. He loved his job and enjoyed square dancing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Rupe; a sister, Edith Ramey; and 2 grandsons, Gabriel John Rupe and Kristopher Shane Rupe.
Survivors include 3 sons and spouses, Cecil Mike Rupe and Carol of San Antonio, Johnny Dewayne Rupe and Sherry of Jacksboro, and Loyd Keith Rupe of Wichita Falls; a brother, Kenneth Rupe and wife Betty of Walters; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Lachelle and Kamal Saieh, Loralei and Johnny Sanchez, Angie Crystal and Matthew Damaini, Bridgett Legon, Courtney Dawn and Louis Depan, and Trevor Sherman; 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, other relatives and friends.
