Mary Alice Fletcher

Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Monday, August 14, at 2:00 pm with burial in the Letitia Cemetery. Viewing at Hart-Wyatt in Walters beginning Saturday morning.

Mary Alice (Roach) Fletcher was born to George Washington and Nancy Elizabeth (Miller) Roach on April 23, 1927, east of Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on August 9, 2017 at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 17 days.

Alice grew up east of Lawton in the Pleasant Valley area where she attended school until attending Empire High School. She married Willard Anderson and to the union 3 children were born. Alice made her home in the Duncan area until moving to Temple where she was employed at the Haggar factory. She also did home health care as well for several years.

Alice married Arlan Harvey “Jack” Sutton on April 8, 1977 at Temple and they made their home back Texas and then back to Temple where they lived upon Jack’s death. She later married Carl Richard Fletcher on July 3, 1985 at Wichita Falls, TX, making Temple their home. Carl preceded her in death on March 16, 2016.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple and enjoyed crocheting, reading and visiting with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack and Carl; a son, Freddie Anderson; a daughter, Mary Ann Cornell; 2 brothers, Edward and Riley Roach; and 4 sisters, Bessie Cothren, Lois Ray, Elsie Pollard and infant sister Kathleen Roach.

Survivors include a son, Jesse “Sonny” Anderson and wife Shirley of Iowa Park, TX; a daughter, Tina Wright and husband Roy of Kiowa, OK; a stepdaughter, Teresa Musgrove and husband Larry of Faxon, OK; a sister, Lenora Dowlen of Lawton; 4 brothers and wives, Al Roach of Lawton, Charlie Roach and Lorene of Lawton, Jack Roach and Beverly of Billerica, MA, John Roach and Cora of Fletcher, OK; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Scott Anderson of Temple, Billy Joe Anderson of Seymour, TX, Melissa Carol Weaver of Springtown, TX, Lori Lynn of Texas, Tony Dewayne Cornell of Rhome, TX, Treva Cornell of Azle, TX and Michael Cornell of Azle, TX and Derrick Wayne Musgrove and wife Kristle of Faxon; numerous great and great-great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
