Doris Langford Roach, 92, Lawton, OK

Funeral Service at Locust Grove Baptist Church, Elgin, OK, Monday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m., Dr. Bill Watkins officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters with burial in the Letitia Cemetery.

Doris Laurine (Correll) Langford Roach was born to Ora Alfred and Harriett Amanda (Pearson) Correll on June 12, 1924 in Washington, KS and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 23, 2017 at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 11 days.

Doris grew up at Washington, KS, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Walters, OK as a young lady to be near family and worked as civilian personnel at Fort Sill during WWII. She married Denton Tilton Langford on June 15, 1944 at Walters and to the union a daughter, Vickie, was born. They made their home at Walters until moving to Lawton in June of 1950. She worked at Taft Grocery and eventually got on with Civil Service at Fort Sill, working as a supply clerk until her retirement in 1977.

Doris was preceded in death by Denton in 1994. She later married Alonzo Thomas Roach on May 8, 2002 at Letitia Baptist Church. They have made their home east of Lawton and have enjoyed almost 15 years together.

She always loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses, flower gardening, traveling, bowling and reading. She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Denton Langford; and 2 brothers, Ralph and Ora Correll.

She is survived by her husband, Alonzo Roach of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Larry Riley of Lawton; and grandson, Larry Riley, II of Lawton; 3 stepsons, Lynn Roach and wife Marilyn of Geronimo, Bobby Roach of Geronimo, Henry Roach and wife Debbie of Joplin, MO; a stepdaughter, Patsy Lewis of Geronimo; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
