Funeral Services at Bethel United Methodist Church east of Lawton on Thursday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m., Dr. Gene Nease and Rev. Michael Wood officiating with burial in the Letitia Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Virginia Pearl (Jarvis) Dungan was born to George Henry and Lillah Ione (Moore) Jarvis on September 2, 1924 at Chillicothe, TX and departed this life at Bethel on February 19, 2017 at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Virginia grew up in the Pumpkin Center, Bethel, Central High area, attending rural schools and eventually Central High School. She married James Elvin Dungan on June 7, 1941 at Bethel United Methodist Church and to the union 2 children were born. They made their home in the Bethel Community and enjoyed 72 years and 11 months of marriage before James preceded her on May 5, 2014.

She was a longtime member of Bethel UMC. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing and all aspects of working on the farm.

Virginia was preceded by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Darren Dungan; and 5 brothers and sisters, Janet Willis, Harley Jarvis, Georgia Lowrey, Henry Jarvis and Louise Oliver.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pat Dungan of Duncan, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Charlie Cook of Bethel; a brother, Harold Jarvis and Wyvonne of Ft. Worth, TX; 2 grandchildren and spouses, Ericka and Bud Carmon, Evan and Dave Cook; 2 great grandchildren, Morgayne and Madalyn Carmon; many other relatives and friends.
