Anna Mae Spence

Memorial Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Wednesday, October 19 at 4:00 p.m.

Anna Mae (Penrod) Spence was born to Billy Joe and Dorothy Mae (Gates) Penrod on June 13, 1954 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on October 15, 2016 at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Anna grew up at Walters. She married Mikel Dewayne Spence on June 6, 1970 at Wichita Falls. Through the years she worked various jobs, but was mainly a homemaker as she was busy raising 3 boys. She was gentle, humble and would help others while expecting nothing in return. She was a good cook and enjoyed watching detective shows, Wheel of Fortune and Survivor. Anna was the family historian and she loved her grandkids very much. 

She was preceded in death by mother and father; 3 brothers, Dannie, Billy and Paul Penrod; and her sister, Caren Kay Riddles.

Survivors include her husband, Mikel D. Spence, of the home; 3 sons, Bryan Spence and Jennifer of Hastings, OK, Darrell Spence and Carrie of Madill, OK, Mikel Spence and Melanie of Comanche, OK; a brother, Terry Penrod and wife Vicki of Lawton; 10 grandchildren, Brett, Jenna, Brooklynn, Derrick, Kyler, Emma, Gabrielle, Ashton, Aiden, Novelyn; and a great granddaughter, Myia.
