Brenda Elaine Barfield

Memorial Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Tuesday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Brenda Elaine (McCaig) Barfield was born to James Clinton Sr. and Gwendolyn Joyce (Atchison) McCaig on July 2, 1966 at Duncan, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on July 8, 2016 at the age of 50 years and 6 days.

Brenda grew up in the Duncan and Lawton area except for a time in New Mexico. She married Jackie Dan Barfield on July 4, 1983 at Lawton and to the union 2 daughters were born. They made their home in Lawton and eventually moved to the Lake Ellsworth area. She has been a homemaker and loved watching after and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. Brenda also worked a couple of convenience stores and did some home care for a time. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Jake McCaig and Luke McCaig; and 4 sisters, June Campbell, Linda Jones, Carol Kerwin and Stella Mendez.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie, of the home; 2 daughters, Shawna Barfield and Nikki Barfield Davis and husband Taylor all of the home; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline Barfield-Cherry, Arthur Barfield-Cherry and Nicholas Barfield-Cherry; 2 brothers, Gary McCaig of Arizona and Keith McCaig of Lawton; 4 sisters, Ann Crow and husband Tony of Harrah, OK, Lois Pflueger of Lawton, Rebecca Valdez and husband Danny of Corpus Christie, TX and Cathy Scouten of Lawton; many other relatives and friends.
