Maria Inez Garcia

Graveside Services at the Temple Cemetery, Friday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m., Chaplain Daniel Letourneau officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple, OK.

Maria Inez Garcia was born February 20, 1928 in Mexico and departed this life on May 2, 2016 in Temple, OK at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Maria grew up in Mexico and came to America as a young lady. She married Jose Salazar to the Union 4 children were born. They raised the family in the Mercedes, TX area, moving north in the cotton fields until finally settling in the Temple, OK area. She moved to the Marilyn area for 10 plus years, working in a poultry processing plant, then returning to Temple around 1983. She enjoyed taking care of her pets and chickens. Maria has resided at Temple Manor Nursing Home for the past 8 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter; a brother and 3 sisters.

Survivors include 4 sons, John Salazar of Hastings, OK, Pedor Salazar of Walters, Daniel Salazar and wife Glenda of the San Antonio area and one she raised as a son, Max Zavala and wife Clara of the Lake Jackson, TX area; a daughter, Angelina Adame of Temple, OK; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
