Funeral Service at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Friday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Tommy Bragg Officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

 

 

 

Ted Delbert Clark was born to Ted R. and Thelma (Taylor) Clark on April 30, 1934 at Grandfield, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on March 15, 2016 at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 15 days.

 

Delbert grew in the Ahpeatone Community west of Walters, graduating from AHS in 1951. As a young man Ted served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge Delbert returned to a life of carpentry, the trade he had learned as a young boy. He married Effie Mae Bridges on June 2, 1956 at Lawton, OK and they made their home at Walters. Along with carpentry he worked through the 1960’s for the Walters Coop before taking a job with Midwest Contractors of Lawton in 1971. He hired on at Goodyear in 1984, retiring in 1999 after 15 years with the company.

 

He and Effie moved to Wichita Falls in 2015 where he was a member of Journey Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, riding ATV’s and watching boat racing. He loved spending time with family and friends, and going to the coffee shop.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Thelma Clark.

 

He is survived by his wife, Effie, of the home; 2 sons, Rick Clark and wife Pat, and Rodney Clark all of Wichita Falls; a brother, Ed Clark and wife Lorita of Lawton; 2 sisters, Dorothea Johnston and Nelda Elliott and husband David all of Lawton; 3 grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Twylla Clark of Pleasant Valley, TX, Lyndsey and Kyle Richardson of Converse, LA, and Kathryn Clark of Wichita Falls; 7 great grandchildren, Zackery, Andrew, Madison, Cayson, Hope, Hannah and Meredith; 3 great-great grandkids, Rhylie, Avery and Garrett; other relatives and many friends.
