Lavelle Bridges Niblett, 85, Hastings, OK

Memorial Service at the Hasting Baptist Church, Wednesday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Charles McConnell officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK. 

Lavelle (Masoner) Bridges Niblett was born to Bud and Bertie Mae (Rudd) Masoner on August 1, 1930 at Hastings, OK and departed this life in Hastings on January 10, 2016 at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Lavelle grew up at Hastings and was the class valedictorian of 1948. She then attended OCW in Chickasha, OK. Lavelle married Lorenzo Bridges and to the union 2 daughters, Kathy and Gaye, were born. Lorenzo preceded her in death in March of 1984 and she later married Pete Niblett.

Lavelle was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Hastings Baptist where she taught Sunday School and Church Training, and served as pianist and Church Treasurer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Bertie; husbands, Lorenzo and Pete; and a grandson, Mark Lewis.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Kathy Lewis of Memphis, TN and Gaye Leseney of Hastings, OK; a sister, Gwyn Green of Duncan, OK; 3 grandchildren, Amy Lewis of Phoenix, AZ, Jonathan Leseney of Duncan and Chad Lewis of Louisville, KY; 6 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
