B.H. Miller, 79, Walters, OK

Graveside Services at the Walters Cemetery, Wednesday, December 23 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Roger Noland officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

  

Berry Hale “B.H.” Miller was born to Herbert Steven and Johnnie Miller on March 25, 1936 at Duncan, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on December 19, 2015 at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 24 days.


B.H. grew up west of Walters in the Ahpeatone Community. He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard’s Company E 179th Infantry Regiment – 45th Infantry Division, serving during the Korean War. He then joined the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Watts. After 4 years of the Navy he continued his service in the

U.S. Navy Reserve until his discharge in November of 1962.


He married Sarah Mae (Stapp) Bivins on July 31, 1963 at Chanute, KS. They made their home at Walters and then in Temple for a few years before returning to Walters, purchasing their current home in 1974. He had worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department for 31 years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2002. B.H. enjoyed fishing, hulling pecans and most recently loved taking care of his cats.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Loretta; and his brother, Steve.


Survivors include his wife, Sarah, of the home; 2 daughters, Jean Ann Miller of Purcell, OK and Kimberly Sue Miller of Walters; 3 stepchildren, Carla France of Temple, OK, Monty Bivins and Frances Payne both of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, Kristian, Kacie, Baylee, Michael, Lance, Crystal, Angela, Glenn, Brooke and Justin; 18 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
