Gail Claudine Toumbs

Gail Claudene (James) Toumbs was born to Claude Lewis “Bill” and Geraldene “Jerry” (Williams) James on June 14, 1953 at Waurika, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on December 9, 2015 at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 25 days.  

Gail grew up in Hastings and Temple, OK, graduating from THS in 1971. She married David Michael “Mike” Toumbs in March of 1973 and to the union 2 children were born. She made her home in Oklahoma City for a time and then on to the Dallas area, working as a hearing specialist for many years.   She loved her dogs and enjoyed flower gardening, wine and movies.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jerry; a brother, Gerald James; and a niece, Kimberly James.  

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Toumbs of Denton, TX; a son, Michael Aaron Toumbs of Purcell, OK; 2 brothers, Larry James and wife Deborah of Temple, and Gary James of Temple; her aunt and uncle, Gwen and Sims Slaton of Temple; 11 grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friend.
