Charles Hedrick, 71, of Comanche, OK Memorial Service to be held in North Carolina at a later date. Charles Eugene Hedrick was born to George Henry and Callie Louise (Allen) Hedrick on May 11, 1944 outside of Murphy, NC and departed this life in Lawton, OK on May 11, 2015. Charles grew up in the Appalachian Mountains in the Copper Hill, TN, area. He entered the U.S. Air Force and while stationed in Weatherford, OK, he met and soon married Alta Mae Hartman on November 24, 1965. They made their home in Corum, OK, area west of Comanche. He serviced his country honorably for six years and following his discharge moved the family to South Carolina in 1969 until returning to the Beaver Creek area northwest of Corum in 1976, where he has been engaged in farming. Charles enjoyed farm life, as well as, hunting, fishing and building things. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Mayford, Frank, Ken, Ed and George, Jr.; 3 sisters, Helen, Edith, Geneva; and several infant siblings. Survivors include his wife, Alta, of the home; 4 sons, Duane Hedrick and wife Glenda of Duncan, OK, David Hedrick of Gans, OK, James Hedrick of Corum, OK, Darin Hedrick and wife Kareē of the Waurika Lake, OK; 2 sisters, Annie Steele of Gainsville, FL and Pauline Craig of Elijay, GA; 3 sisters-in-law, Pat Hedrick of Mineral Bluff, GA, Stella Crump of Cleveland, TN and Sharon Hedrick of Blueridge, GA; 5 granddaughters, Lucretia Holterman, Larissa Hurst, Tahleah Curtis, Nicci Curtis and Courtney Curtis; 3 grandsons, Wesley Hedrick, Tyler Hurst and Parker Holterman; 2 great granddaughters, Presley Curtis and Olivia Holterman; many nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
