Joe Miller

Joe Miller was born to Luey and Lela (Cornelius) Miller on November 2, 1926 at Cookietown, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on July 16, 2014 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 14 days. Joe grew up at Cookietown, graduating from Union Valley High School in 1946. He married Veta Faye Doty on October 29, 1948 at Wichita Falls and to the union 2 children were born. Joe was a lifetime farmer and rancher, and also did custom harvesting for 50 years. The couple made their home northeast of Cookietown until moving to Walters in 1984. Joe's hobby was working and he especially loved plowing. He also enjoyed playing dominos and going to basketball games. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Miller; and a sister, Mary Ellen Laminack. Survivors include his wife, Veta, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Miller of Randlett, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Christy Miller of Cookietown; 3 grandchildren, Errika Arbogast and fiancé, Larry Hathaway of Walters, Riyan Miller and wife Meredith, and Karissah Miller all of Cookietown; 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Kiarra and Zakery Arbogast, Kynlea and Kason Miller; other relatives and a host of friends.
