Roberta Welden

Roberta Lynne Bland Welden was born March 31, 1962 in Cristobal, Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama and departed this life in Duncan, OK on June 28, 2014 at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 28 days. Roberta grew up at Indiahoma, OK. She married Larry Carter on November 14, 1980 at Bristow, OK and to the union a son and daughter was born. As a young adult she made her home in the Tulsa area where she was employed by the City of Tulsa and also Sampson Industries for several years before returning to the Lawton area. She married William Jefferson Welden, "Billy Jeff," on June 18, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Walters. They made their home at the Waurika Lake. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Walters. She enjoyed the motorcycle lifestyle, fishing, having cookouts and helping others. Her passion was caring for her granddaughter Victoria. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Welden; her granddaughter, Heaven Lee Carter; her maternal grandmother, Bessie Keathley; and her paternal grandparents, Hemp and Mildred Bland. Survivors include 2 children, Justin Carter of Bristow and Ashley Carter of Tulsa; her parents, Truman Dale and Margaret LaVonne (Keathley) Bland of Indiahoma; a brother, Joe Bland and wife Belinda of Indiahoma; 2 sisters, Paula Reneé Fisher and husband John Mark of Chattanooga, OK, Radie Riddle and husband Pat of Sterling, OK; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Bear, Nicholas Bear, Victoria Carter, Jacob Carter and Elisa Carter; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
