Benjamin Martinez was born to Domingo V. and Maria Olga (Johnston) Martinez on October 20, 1977 at Abilene, TX and departed this life in Arlington, TX on May 15, 2014 at the age of 36 years, 6 months and 25 days. Ben grew up at Chattanooga, OK moving to Dodge City, Kansas as a teenager where he graduated from Dodge City High School in 1996. He married Amy Marie West on July 25, 1998 at Chattanooga, OK and to the union 4 children were born. They made their home at Lubbock, TX for a time before making their home in Odessa for 10 years, and Ben was employed as a pharmacy tech at Midland Memorial Hospital. They eventually moved to Cedar Hill, TX in 2008 and he worked for Children's Medical of Dallas as a pharmacy tech until his health failed. Ben was a member of the High Pointe Baptist Church at Cedar Hill. He enjoyed doing yard work, going to the lake, camping and barbequing. He also wanted to make sure his boys had fun and took them to Six Flags often. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jada Grace; father, Domingo; his mother, Maria; two brothers, Domingo Martinez, Jr. and Daniel Martinez; and a sister, Mary Ann Martinez. Survivors include his wife, Amy, of the home; 3 children, Jabin, Zimory and Zachariah Martinez all of the home; 6 brothers and sisters, Gloria Flores of San Antonio, TX, Irma and husband Danny Borrego of Abilene, TX, Carlos Martinez of Abilene, Irene and husband Tony Lopez of Walters, OK, Jo Ann and husband Mike Gardner of Bowie, TX, David Martinez and wife Asela of Carnegie, OK; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Martinez of Odessa; his father-in-law, Billy West of Cedar Hill, TX; a sister-in-law, Wendy Aguero of Cedar Hill; a brother-in-law, Kerry West of Meade, KS; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
