Harold Lloyd Davis

Harold Lloyd Davis was born to Forrest Ord and Velma Vida Davis at Temple, OK on February 11, 1928 and departed this life at Duncan, OK on April 15, 2014 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 4 days. Harold grew up north of Temple, graduating from THS in 1947. The following year on July 3, 1948 he married Jeannie Mae Chambers at Lawton, OK. They made their home at Temple for a time before moving to Medicine Park where he was employed at a hatchery. He soon moved the family to the Oklahoma City area where he was employed by Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base and was eventually transferred to Sheppard AFB at Wichita Falls working at both bases as an electrical engineer, troubleshooting electronic problems on the flight line. While working at Sheppard Field he was also engaged in farming and the family made their home north of Temple once again. While employed by Civil Service he was sent TDY on several occasions to work on aircraft. He also held both commercial and private pilot license. Harold retired in 1970 and soon moved to Corpus Christi, TX, where he learned the shrimping business, building 3 shrimp boats of his own. Harold began farming at a young age with responsibilities on the tractor at age 9. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a Ham Radio operator. He also enjoyed flying planes, owning a Piper PA 13 and leasing others. He loved spending time with the grandkids and was good at "snapping his fingers." Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson, Dow Brede. Survivors include his wife, Jeannie of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Harold and Paula Ward Davis, and Lloyd Wayne and JoAnn Davis, all of San Antonio, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and H.C. Brede, Jr of Temple, OK and Helen Marie Davis-Brown and Bob of the Waurika Lake area; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Dodie Brede of Ft. Worth, TX, Robbi Brede El Paso, TX, William Davis of Round Rock, TX, Daniel Davis of Oakland, CA, Jeanna Zangara of Grass Valley, CA, Melissa and Garland Reese of Edmond, Ok, Lori and Daniel Leichssenring of Kirtland Air Force Base, Scott Robert Brown of Temple, OK, Jason Lloyd and Jodi Davis of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeremy Wade and Belle Davis and Jennifer Davis all of San Antonio, TX; 8 great grandchildren, Blake Franklin, Warren, and Addie Zangara, Sara Martin, Joshua and Jacob Leichssenring, Joshua Davis, David Cantrell and 1 on the way; other relatives and friends.
