Raymond Walter Ratliff was born to Sidney and Vida (Scott) Ratliff on May 23, 1925 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on April 28, 2009 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 5 days. Raymond grew up in and attended school in the Lincoln Valley area east of Walters, OK. He volunteered to spend some time in the Army before running the pool hall and driving a truck in Walters. He married Opal Tabbytosavit in the summer of 1961 in California; several years after their marriage they made Walters their home. He worked for more than 20 years as a salesman for the Walters Coop Elevator until he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Emerson Nazarene Church west of Walters. He was preceded in death by his wife and 5 sisters; Jessie Ross, Ruby Tabbytosavit, Bobbie Bennett, Doris Wright and Mattie Jo Spivey. Survivors include two step-daughters; Juanita and Doug Allen and Bonita and Jim Anderson both of Walters, a sister; Shirley and Malcolm Ray of Lawton, 10 step-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
