Sally Jo Wallace

Sally Jo Wallace was born to William Monroe and Mary Cleveland (Dixon) Colson in Ardmore, Oklahoma on May 7, 1912 and departed this life in Oklahoma City on March 18, 2009 at the age of 96 years 10 months and 11 days. Sally Jo grew up in Ringling, OK and graduated from Ringling High School and then graduated from Central State University in Edmond, OK. She married William Patrick Wallace on March 27, 1943 in Biloxi, MS. and he passed away on April 14, 1983. They made their home in Healdton, then moved to Temple, OK and then to Walters in 1957 to 1992. Sally was a substitute teacher for Walters Public Schools and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Wallace, 2 brothers, Cecil and J.C. Colson and a sister, Theo Thomsen. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Fran Oberly of Oklahoma City; a grandson, Sean Patrick Oberly of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter Jennifer Lauren Oberly of Oakland, CA; a brother Dr. Ted Colson of Oklahoma City; a sister, Doll Conrad of St. Joseph, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends.
