Rubye Geraldine (Hart) Scott was born to Charles Walter and Willie (Nixson) Hart on November 9, 1928, at Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on March 5, 2009, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 24 days. Rubye grew up west of Walters, attending Soldier Creek School through the 7th grade. She then transferred to Walters Schools, graduating from WHS in 1946. She went on to Draughons Business College in Wichita Falls, TX, graduating in 1948 and went to work for Lone Star Gas in Walters. She married Frank David Scott, Jr. on December 5, 1952, at Walters and to the union 4 children were born. They made their home in Waurika where Rubye continued working for Lone Star Gas. They moved to Spiro, OK in 1955 and in 1958 she began working as a Tax Preparer. They moved back to Walters in 1962 where she ran her tax business, had many rental properties and owned Scott's Furniture Store. Rubye and Frank were one of three deacon couples of First Baptist Church, Walters that helped start Calvary Baptist Church in Walters 40 years ago. She enjoyed serving as a cook at the Falls Creek Church Camp for 20 years. Rubye also enjoyed gardening and sewing, as well as making many trips to her vacation home at Cloudcroft, NM, over the past 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on September 12, 1985; her parents; an infant brother, Benjamin Hart; and an infant sister, Irene Opal Hart. Survivors include 4 children and their spouses, Patricia Pelz of Wichita Falls, TX, Charles and Laurette Scott of Arlington, TX, Deborah and Tom Connely of Walters and Anna Scott of Walters; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Melia Pelz, Jeremy Pelz, Christopher Scott, Kristina Scott, Brandy Young, Jarrod Bacon, Joe Bacon, Desiree and Michael Francy, Renee Connely, Matthew Chaat, Ralyssa Jackson and Jessika Chaat; 2 great grandchildren, Catherine Francy and Brittnie Bacon; other relatives and many friends.
