Gloria June Martin

Gloria June (Wade) Martin was born to Stanford "Sonny" and Ruby Jewell (Bussell) Wade on October 25, 1947, at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton on February 3, 2009, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 9 days. Gloria grew up mainly in Lawton and in Mississippi until the age of 13 when her family settled in Walters, OK. She married Arnold Wayne Martin on November 11, 1965, in Lawton, OK. Through the years Gloria has been a homemaker and the couple have owned and operated Broadway Discount Grocery in Walters for many years. She enjoyed reading, music, making crafts, and taking care of her family. She especially loved her grandkids and her dog. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Buck Jones, Leon Jones and Stanford Wade; 2 sisters, Loretta McAffee and Melba Hamilton; and a granddaughter, Kalie Watkins. Survivors include her husband, Arnold Wayne, of the home; 2 daughters, Patricia Ann Watkins and husband Keith, Lucida Jewell Simmons and husband Jack, Jr. all of Walters; 2 sons, Jesse Wayne Martin of Walters and Jason Dale Crump of Duncan, OK; 3 sisters, Virginia Benson of Oklahoma City, Amanda Delores Philpott of Lawton, OK and Brenda Wade of Lawton; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Lee Price, Carrie Ann Belcher, Jaclyn Sue Simmons all of Walters and Lee Ann Crump of Duncan; other relatives and many friends.
