A.B. Brannan, 81, Randlett, OK

Graveside Services at the Fairview Cemetery, Randlett, OK on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Gary Thurman officiating. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK on Tuesday evening from 6-7:00 p.m.

Almus Benton “A.B.” Brannan, Jr. was born to Almus Benton and Carmen Ozelle (Rush) Brannan on July 10, 1944 in Sweetwater, TX and departed this life at his home in rural Randlett, OK on July 28, 2025 at the age of 81 years and 18 days.

A.B. grew up at Big Lake, TX, where he graduated from high school. He married Judy Lois Goss on March 8, 1963, at Union Valley Baptist Church, Cookietown, OK and to the union 2 children were born. They made their home at Sweetwater, TX, eventually settling at their current home at Randlett, OK in the spring of 1985. He worked every aspect of the business in the oilfields of West Texas for many years and in the early 1990’s went to work for Piping Engineering as a pipefitter, retiring in 2009.

A.B. loved fishing and was an avid Civil War buff. He served as Scoutmaster for his son’s Boy Scout troop, and was awarded membership in the Boy Scouts “Order of the Arrow.” He was a member of the Nolan County Sheriff’s Posse. He was a 4-H Club Leader in Nolan County and Cotton County, and was a member of the Texoma Wood Carvers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Floyd and Delbert; and 2 sisters, Coleeta and Carmen.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; 2 children, Andy Brannan and wife Kathy of Texarkana, TX, Jamie Bowers and husband Nathan of Lawton; a brother, Anthony and wife Jannie Brannan of Atlanta, TX; a sister-in-law, Rosie Brannan of Hobbs, NM; 2 grandchildren, Rochelle Jones and husband David of Texarkana, AR, Robert Brannan and wife Laura of Wichita Falls; 3 great grandchildren, Arianna, Benjamin and Adalyn and one on the way, Eliza Kathlynn; other relatives and friends.
