Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Monday, October 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Roger Noland officiating with interment in the Walters Cemetery. Viewing Saturday from 1-8pm and on Sunday from 2-8pm.

Alvenia Lee (Jernigan) Thompson was born to James Henry and Dorothy Lee (Bucklew) Jernigan on April 4, 1943 in the hospital at Walters, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on October 14, 2026 at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Lee grew up in Faxon and Lawton. She married Eugene Lorah in August of 1959 in Henrietta, TX, making their home at Chattanooga, OK. 2 daughters were born to this union. She was a homemaker until moving to Lawton in 1971 and began attending vo-tech for nursing. She received her LPN and eventually received her administration certification. She was married to Jerry Jester for 11 years residing in Lawton, Oklahoma. Lee later married Kennith Thompson in 1994 and they soon built a house in Walters.

Lee attended Open Door Church of God in Walters. She enjoyed fishing and camping at Waurika Lake. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, and preparing and taking food to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Samantha Whitehead; her husband, Kennith in 2017; 3 sisters, Peggy Lail, Jimmie Pierce and Christine Pierce; and a brother, Richard Pierce.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Loanna Whitehead and Jon of Walters, Eugenia Anderson and John of Walters; a sister-in-law, Linda Blythe of Walters; a niece, Flora Thomas of Gatesville ,TX; 5 grandchildren, Krystal Stores and Justin of Lawton, Colby Hilbert and Sandra of Virginia Beach, VA, Jared Whitehead and Amanda of Duncan, Dalas Anderson and Cindy of Walters, Dakota Anderson and fiancé, Sidney of Dallas; 10 great grandchildren, Chloe Stores, Beckett Stores, Braxton Foster, Bree Foster, Madalyn Whitehead, Kelton Sutherland, Addison Anderson, Grey Jackson, Knox Anderson and Ella Sage Anderson; other relatives and friends.
