Funeral Service at Randlett Baptist Church, Randlett, OK, Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Bill Watkins officiating. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK, Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Billy John Harrison was born to Freddie Joe and Lula Elizabeth (Roberts) Harrison on December 30, 1936 in Clayton, NM and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on April 1, 2026 at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 2 days.
Bill spent his early years growing up in Colorado before coming to Randlett, OK in high school. He married his wife of 66 and a half years, Karry Lou Rhoads, on September 7, 1959 at Randlett Baptist Church. They made their home in Wichita Falls for 2 years before building their current home in Randlett.
Early on, Bill worked at Russell’s Radiator Shop in Wichita Falls. He then worked for Wichita Engineering and then for Ciba-Geigy which became Ameron, retiring from Ameron in 1990. Bill became a member of the Mason Lodge in October of 1974. He was active with his community through the years, serving as Mayor and was on the town board, the water board, and helped get the fire department started. He was a member of Randlett Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Director.
In his early years Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. Along with family and friends he enjoyed playing 42. Bill aways kept busy taking care of others. He enjoyed mowing his lawn on the John Deere mower he was so proud of. He knew every old western movie word for word and enjoyed reading Louis Lamour books. In his later years he enjoyed being the school bus route driver for his 6 great grandkids.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lula Harrison; his infant sister, Betty Jean Harrison; his granddaughter, Ashley Kemp Kraning; and his mother and father-in-law, whom he considered his second parents, Herman and Mary Rhoads.
Survivors include his wife, Karry Harrison of the home; 3 daughters, Betty and Monty Kemp of Randlett, Johnette and Gregg Wallace of Iowa Park, TX, Kim and Bobby Wolfe of Graham, TX; a son, Russell and Susan Harrison of Pleasant Plains, IL; 8 grandchildren, Kobe Sims, Dallas Sims, Londyn Kemp, Cooper Harrison, Kyle Martin, Connor Wolfe, Carter Wallace, Taylor Wallace; 6 great grandchildren, Madison, Kyleigh, Natalie, Thomas, Angel and Jason; other relatives and friends.
