Bob grew up attending Logue Chapel School, then moved to the Ahpeatone School District in 1949, graduating from Ahpeatone High School in 1952. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve and then on June 6, 1959 he married Judith Meraline “Judy” Thomas at Emerson Baptist Church. He had also been learning how to mechanic on the farm and worked for Leon Cain at the parts store.

He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for the past 33 years. He and Judy enjoyed trips to their homes in Red River, NM for 15 years, where they loved the weather, going sightseeing, and he enjoyed taking Judy to look for Jewelry. They did horseback riding and jeeping in the mountains, and their home was the hub for friends because of the smell of Judy’s cooking. They also enjoyed trips to Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Branson.
