Carl Gene Conway

Funeral Service at the Heart of Truth Church in Temple, OK on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. GO Wade officiating, under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

Pastor Carl Gene Conway was born to James Orvil and Minnie Alice (Horton) Conway on May 21, 1931 at Big Creek, MO and departed this life at his home in Temple, OK on July 20, 2019 at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 29 days.

Carl made his home in the Walden, CO area where he did much of his lumberjacking through the years. He was living in Kearny, AZ when he met Caroline Romero Lopez at church in Winkelman, AZ. He and Carrie married on September 31, 2006 at Winkelman and moved to Temple, OK.

Carl enjoyed hunting and living off the land. He also loved playing the guitar and singing. Along with his lumberjacking, he also pastored in Pentecostal churches for many years and served as Associate Pastor at the Heart of Truth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; and 2 children.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie, of the home; 2 sons, Earl Wayne Conway and Carl Michael Conway; a daughter, Carol Ann Georgia; 2 stepsons, Robert C. Chavez, Jr. and Reuben Chavez; a brother, Bill Conway of Missouri; several grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
