Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Rev. Cydni Tillery officiating with interment in the Letitia Cemetery. Carolyn Jean (Crowley) Wickwire was born February 26, 1938 to W.E. “Elmer” Crowley and Mildred Elizabeth (Menz) Crowley in Walters, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK on April 28, 2026, at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 2 days.

The Crowley Family moved to a farm east of Walters and Carloyn continued attending Walters Schools, graduating in 1955. She then attended Cameron College, receiving an associate’s degree in accounting. Carolyn married Charles Floyd Wickwire on November 27, 1957, in Walters, OK at St. Patrick Catholic Church. They moved to Stillwater, OK, where Charles completed his degree in Agriculture Education at OSU.

Daughter, Tara, was born at Stillwater, they then moved to Sayre, OK where Charles completed his student teaching. The next move was to Meade, KS where Michael, Trent, and Rhonda were born. The family then moved to Manhattan, KS, where Charles used his agriculture education to teach ag to students. They then moved to Clinton, OK, where Charles decided to change his career to Co-op, managing operations in Clinton, Pauls Valley, Mt. View and Hooker, OK, where Tara graduated from high school.

Charles’ next career adventure took the family to Canyon, TX, in 1976 where Charles managed Wickwire Brokerage for several years, still dealing with agriculture and grain. They then moved back home to Pumpkin Center east of Lawton in 1993 following the deaths of their parents.

Throughout their 68-year marriage, Carolyn has worked outside the home at times but her dedication and devotion as wife, mom, grandma and great grandma have been cherished by all. Carolyn and Charles have been faithful members of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lawton, OK. She enjoyed crocheting and was the family seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening and making her renowned bread.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mildred Crowley; her husband Charles Wickwire; and her sister, Pat Parsons.

Survivors include 4 children, Tara Brown of Temple, OK, Mike Wickwire of Lawton, OK, Trent Wickwire and Karen of Bryan, TX, Rhonda McMurry and Denver of Boyd, TX; a sister, Kay McCall of Lawton; a sister-in-law, Karen Wickwire of Big Piney, WY; 9 grandchildren, Mylinda Grissam, Michael Brown, Jenifer Taylor, Kristie Wickwire, Tucker Wickwire, Gregory Wickwire, Amanda Kubricht, Cienna McMurry and Janae McMurry; 10 great grandchildren, Ayden McClure, Rebekah, Noah and Gideon Grissam, Olivia Frank, Charles Kubricht, Kenalee, Zander, Amelia and Brielle Ganote; other relatives and friends.
