Clarence Elmer Beisch, Jr. was born to Clarence Elmer and Dortha Fae (Henson) Beisch on May 17, 1939 at Red Hill, NM and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on October 25, 2025 at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 8 days.
Elmer was born in a half dugout in New Mexico and his dad would get up first in the mornings to check for rattlesnakes. When he was 2 years of age the family moved to the Iowa Park, TX area where they were engaged in farming. He joined the U.S. Navy and soon married Louise Laverne Copeland on February 1, 1958, in Kamay, TX. To the union a daughter, Shelly, was born. They lived at Kamay until moving to Randlett, OK in 1970, living near his parents. They built a house in Randlett in 1973 and then moved back to the farm for several years after the death of his parents. In 2008 they moved back to town and later moved to Lake Arrowhead to be near their daughter in November of 2024.
Elmer farmed, worked in the oilfield, drove a school bus, and served 3 terms as Cotton County Commissioner for District 3. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, camping and trout fishing in Colorado. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lee “LA” Beisch; and 2 sisters, Patricia Stewart and Verna Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Rocky Underwood of Wichita Falls; 2 grandchildren, Shane Underwood and Michelle of Keota, OK, and Tiffany Anderson of Wichita Falls; 5 great grandchildren, Jacob Underwood, Hunter Wamba, BJ Anderson, Brandon Wellman and Robin Wellman; 3 great-great grandchildren, Malachi, Rue Ann and Avery; and 2 great-great grands on the way.
His life was celebrated with a private interment on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in the Fairview Cemetery, Randlett, OK.
