Dexter Floyd Looney was born to Floyd Chester and Betty Jean (Swinney) Looney in Wichita Falls, TX on August 10, 1960 and departed this life in Wichita Falls on May 3, 2023 at the age of 62 years, 8 months and 23 days. 

Dexter grew up at Randlett, OK, graduating from Big Pasture High School in 1979. He married Tenya Lynn Lowery on March 9, 1984 in Burkburnett, TX and to the union a son, Scott, was born. Dexter worked 23 years for the City of Burkburnett as an equipment operator for the street department. He then worked 13 years for the Comanche Red River Casino and then worked 4 years with Wichita County as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator until his health began to decline in 2022. 

Dexter served on the Randlett Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, umpiring, playing and coaching softball. He loved watching OU football and softball, and watching BBQ Pitmasters. He loved going to the races.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Betty Looney.

Survivors include his wife, Tenya Looney, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Patricia Looney of Randlett, OK; a grandson, Michael Parker; a granddaughter, Heather Micka and Craig; his great grandson, Nixon Micka; 3 brothers, Gary Looney of Randlett, Randy Looney and April of Burkburnett, and Ralph Looney of Randlett; 2 sisters, Nancy Lowery and Jimmy of Randlett, Peggy Carr and Michael of Iowa Park, TX; his mother-in-law, Joyce Lowery of Randlett; many other relatives and friends.
