Dixie Woods

December 23, 1964 — July 31, 2023

Dixie Woods, 58, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 31, 2023, at her home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was born to John R. Calfy and Wilma Calfy, December 23, 1964, at Lawton, Oklahoma.  Lovingly raised by Nelda Calfy.

Dixie was a 1983 graduate of Walters High School, Walters, Oklahoma.  Shortly after graduating she followed her father’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Army.  After being stationed in Alaska for several years she was Honorably Discharged and returned to her home in Walters, Oklahoma.

On February 27, 1987, she married the love of her life Terry Woods.  They continue to build on their family in Walters having two children, Joshua Calfy, and Lacy Jensen.  After several years living in Walters, they moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming. There they continued to grow their family.

Dixie loved spending her time reading, camping, and above all else, spending time with her husband, grandkids, and dogs.  She will be most remembered for her spunky attitude as well as her spunky hair.  Many times, coloring her hair in rainbow colors to amuse her grandkids and make her feel young.  Dixie also had a love for horses, softball, and basketball in her earlier years.  She was a bright, high-spirited, and loving soul.  Did things her way!  She will be missed dearly by all those that knew her!

Survivors include her beloved husband Terry Woods of Rock Springs, Wy; son Joshua Calfy and wife Erica of Fremont, NE; daughter Lacy Jensen and husband Glen of Rock Springs, WY; brothers Kevin and wife Tina of Temple, Ok; Jerry Davis and wife Marcia of Fayetteville, AK; sisters Diane Myers and husband Randy of Iowa Park, TX; Theresa Calfy Monnard of Norman, OK;  grandchildren Johnathan Calfy, Gabriel Calfy, Samantha Calfy, Rhylan Jensen, Weston Jensen, Kharizma Jensen; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
