Jean grew up in the Wright City area with the family moving from farm to farm. She married Dean Grover Copass on September 9, 1948 in Pauls Valley, OK. To this union 5 children were born, Janet, Gary, Keith, Archie, Marla and in later years raised their granddaughter Candra Leeann. The family made their home at Erin Springs but followed the oilfield until settling at Walters, OK in 1960. Starting in 1960 she helped her husband with Copass Roofing in Walters. She worked as a Cosmetology Instructor for Aladdin’s Beauty College and also had her own shop called Cottage of Hairstyling at her home.

Jean was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to the lake, camping and she and Dean served as camp host at Waurika Lake for a summer. The couple also enjoyed bus trips.
