Floyd "Rocky" Eveland Jr.

Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Walters, OK on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Fr. Thomas Nallapatti officiating. Interment at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon. A Wake with Rosary will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. Floyd Leroy “Rocky” Eveland Jr. was born to Floyd Leroy and Olive Marie (Klink) Eveland on November 10, 1951 in Trestle Creek, ID and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 6, 2024 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 25 days. Rocky graduated from high school at Sand Point, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Military for 36 years. He also served as a policeman/detective and even as Sheriff of Bonner County at Sand Point. After settling in Oklahoma with wife Nita, he finished his Bachelor of Criminal Justice at Cameron University. Through the years he was a Shriner, a Mason and was active with the Knights of Columbus. He never met a stranger, loved anything to do with old cars and was a member of the Corvette Club. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Eveland; his mother, Olive Marie Klink; his stepmother, Sharon Stevens; and his brother, Rinnie Eveland. He is survived by his wife, Nita Marie Eveland, whom he married on January 22, 2000; his children, Sarah Maurer and Jacob of Hayden, ID, Blair Eveland and Jennifer of Spokane, WA, John James and Trullee of Walters, OK, Bari Robinson and Brenden of Cache, OK, Theo James and Leisa of Cache; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his sisters, Nancy Metcalf and Duke, Rita Stapleton, Carlotta Martin and Jim, Laura Eveland and John; his brothers, Andy Carnegie and Tammy, Clayton Eveland and Penny, Clinton Eveland; other relatives and a host of friends.
