Fredia Jane Rice was born to Charley Preston Glenn and Velma Bessie (Penrod) Glenn on November 5, 1954, in Walters, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on July 13, 2026, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 8 days.

Fredia grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1973. She was a baton twirler for the Blue Devils and in her early teens she worked for tips at Howard Johnson's on the turnpike. She was the elementary secretary for a time and worked for Lady Bug Flowers and Gifts before beginning a 23-year career with the Cotton County Conservation District, retiring in 2014. She was active with national conservation meetings and influenced the startup of the OACD Employees Association. She was a board member of the Oklahoma Conservation Historical Society. She was a long-term volunteer and traveled nationally for the National Land and Range Judging Contest.

Already having a son, Shane Michael, Fredia married Stanley Luther Rice on January 1, 1995, in Walters, gaining 3 more kids. They have made their home in rural Duncan. She had been a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Walters where she taught Sunday School for many years. While in Duncan she has been an active member of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ and has enjoyed cooking for events and working in the nursery to name a few of her activities. She also drove church ladies to shows at Jewel Box Community Theatre in Oklahoma City every year and loved attending shows in Branson and New York City and attending the National Finals Rodeo and PBR events.

Fredia's priority was God, family, church, and the Walters Roundup Club was certainly a top passion as well. She served as the club's queen 6 times and was the club secretary for 44 years working with 3 club presidents during that time. She has served all these years as the Rodeo Program Coordinator, quietly making things happen, creating a great rodeo experience year after year. She took care of and mentored the queen contestants, coordinated with stock producers and rodeo contestants. If it had to do with the rodeo, she was in on it.

Stan said she was good at "Bossing." Together, they enjoyed 31 years of traveling and loving on people as they worked side by side to make things happen for family, friends and organizations they loved. They traveled the world together, visiting 4 continents and numerous countries. They made it to all events for the beloved grandkids. She was the host of class reunions and hosted her famous Christmas Cookie Parties. She even decorated the Chisholm Trail Museum for a couple of Christmas's, and the list goes on and on. Fredia's favorite restaurant was Dirty Al's in South Padre. She loved any beach and tanning was a priority. She enjoyed going to country music concerts, even though she and Stan's first date was to a Moody Blues concert.

Fredia was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Velma Glenn, an infant sister, Maxine Glenn, and a brother Kenny Glenn.

She is survived by her husband Stan Rice of the home; 4 children, Shane Pennington and Carol of Bartlesville, Scott Rice and Melinda of Duncan, Stacy O'Neal of Marlow, and Sam Rice of Corpus Christie; and a special "bonus" daughter Trish Evans and Chris of Oklahoma City; a brother Bobby Glenn and Debbie of Lawton; a sister, Jeanie Cox of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Dollie Glenn of Walters; 9 Grandchildren, Anna Beth Stinson and Fisher, Mathan Pennington and Kami, Molly Tennison and Carson, Robbi Matthews and Dalton, Alex Rice and Klaudia, Morgan Taylor and Nate, Christopher Ballard, Landry O'Neal, and Sierra Rice; 5 great-grandchildren, Harlynn Taylor, Ava Taylor, Iris Pennington, Thomas Pennington, Maria Rice; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and best friends.
