Howard Leon Grubbs

A Memorial Service will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bill Boles officiating.

Howard Leon Grubbs was born Marion Leon and Alla Mae (Mustang) Grubbs on June 1, 1955 in Waurika, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on March 24, 2023 at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 23 days.

Howard grew up in Temple, graduating from THS in 1974. He then attended vo-tech. Howard married Inell Bird making their home in Gruver, TX. To the union a daughter, Amy and son, Keith were born. He later moved to Kentucky and married Nancy Dickson. To this union a son, Cody was born.

Howard worked as an assistant horse trainer while in Texas and then drove a truck under federal contract while in Kentucky. He eventually returned his roots at Temple due to ill health. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, horse races and more recently Facebooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Cecil Grubbs; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Powell and Phyllis Noblin.

Survivors include 3 children, Amy Baker of Lubbock, TX, Keith Grubbs of Baton Rouge, LA, and Cody Dickson of Lexington, KY; 2 brothers, Randy Grubbs of Tuttle, OK and Dennis Grubbs of Temple, OK; 5 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
