Ida Thomas

A Memorial Service will be held at Cross Brand Cowboy Church, Waurika, OK on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Sean Mayfield officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Ida Bernice Thomas was born October 9, 1967 in Rockdale, TX and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on December 3, 2021 at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 24 days.

Moving from Texas around age 10, Ida grew up at Temple, OK, graduating from THS in 1986. She married Dennis Ray Thomas and to the union a son, Dennis Trent was born. Ida did childcare and then worked at the Courthouse Grill in Waurika. She moved to Yukon in 2006 and onto Mustang in 2016. She worked at La Petite Academy for several years until she injured her back.

Ida enjoyed doing anything with kids, especially with Austin and most recently Tymber,

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tonie Renee Collins.

She is survived by her mother, Bobbie Collins of Temple; her husband, Dennis Thomas of Hastings; her son, Trent Thomas of Temple and granddaughter, Tymber Thomas; her step son Jesse Thomas and Kayla of Kentucky; her step daughter Dena Thomas of California; grandchildren Harper Thomas and Mia Thomas, Camille Kalla and Corynn Kalla; a bonus daughter and son, Stephanie and Patrick Burrow of Mustang and their kids, Landon and Ida’s Austin; Uncle Hippie of Texas; bonus grandchildren, Joey, Cody, Elissa, Stephanie and Hunter Griffith; her sister, Audra O’neal of Temple and her girls, nieces Casey Watts, and Christina Winfree and husband Kyle and son Kyler; a brother, Donton Griffith of Texas; a sister, Susan Griffith of Texas; a nephew and family, Clint Thomas and Katy of Hastings and kids Allie, Colton, Kalee and Elizabeth; a niece and family, Cindy Mayfield and Sean of Hastings and son, Sage; many other relatives and friends.
