Jeanette Speir Perry, 79, The Woodlands, TX

Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Brantley Tillery officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, TX on July 7, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association.

Edith Jeanette (Speir) Perry was born to Archie Milton and Dorothy Mable (Head) Speir on August 29, 1941 in Gladewater, TX and departed this life in Kyle, TX on May 26, 2021 at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 27 days.

Jeanette lived in many different cities growing up and went to high school in Artesia, New Mexico. In High School she was the editor for the Yearbook and an honor student. During her adult life she lived in Houston, Texas; Lake Charles, Louisiana; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and The Woodlands, Texas.

She had an unwavering commitment to Jesus Christ, a strong belief in the power of prayer, and abundant love for her children and grandchildren.

Jeanette loved attending church and was a member of The First Baptist Church of The Woodlands. She had such an intense desire to learn and study the bible that she studied Greek to be able to read the New Testament in its original language. Her home was filled with books about the bible. She enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of The University of Oklahoma and The Astros. She also enjoyed reading and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her father Archie Speir and her mother Dorothy Speir Colyer.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Speir of Walters, Oklahoma, her brother Brian Speir of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, her daughters Jana Long (James) of Austin, Texas, Kim Freeman (Todd) of The Woodlands, Texas, and Elizabeth Beck (Jeff) of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Hunter Long, Kayla Freeman, Lauren Freeman and Emily Freeman.
