Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ in Walters, OK, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Don Crow officiating. Burial will follow at the Walters cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
Joyce Fay (Mullins) Bridges was born October 16, 1938, near Walters, OK, to Claude Henry and Velma (Brown) Mullins. She passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 27 days.
Joyce grew up in Temple, where she graduated from Temple High School with the class of 1956. She soon married Coy Lee Bridges on July 17, 1956, beginning her first career as a wife and mother to their 4 children.
The young family made their home first in Pueblo, Colorado, before returning to Oklahoma, where they spent several years moving around the state with Coy’s work. In 1990 the couple made their home in Temple and owned and operated Bridges Specialties, a screen-printing business. After Coy’s death 2 years later Joyce remained in Temple to care for her mother and then aunt before settling in Lawton, where Joyce remained for the rest of her life, retiring in 2007 from her screen-printing venture.
Joyce was a devoted and passionate member of the Church of Christ, her final church home being Northwest Church of Christ in Lawton. Her faith was at the center of her life, and her church family meant a great deal to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Velma Mullins; her husband, Coy Lee Bridges; her sons, Donnie Lee and Dannie Coy Bridges; and her brothers, Claud A. and Charles R. Mullins.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Dana Joyce and Willis Cutshall of Butler, Alabama, and Darla Fay Bridges of Lawton, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law, Suzette Berleth of Weatherford, TX; her sister, Jeavena Mullins-Cornstubble of Richland Hills, TX; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Bridges, Daniel Bridges, Dustin Bridges, Dalayna Bridges, Drew Bridges, Dovanna Casey, Richard L. Cutshall, Perry Allen Cutshall, Terry Cutshall, and Katelyn Elrod; 23 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; 1 great-great grandchild, other relatives and friends.
