Kathie (Griffin) Norman

A graveside service for Kathie Norman will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Walters Cemetery in Walters, OK, with Don Crow officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Kathie was born to Edward Clyde Griffin and Ruth Edith (Johnson) Griffin on March 31, 1944, in Walters, OK, and departed this life in Duncan, OK, on September 2, 2026, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

Kathie attended school in Walters for a couple of years before her family moved to California for a year, returning to Cotton County where she finished her schooling at Big Pasture High School, graduating in 1963. She married Larry Norman on March 26, 1965, and the couple made their home in Walters, where they have lived ever since. To the union two sons were born.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Walters, where she taught Sunday school for a time. Kathie was a great mom and mother-in-law, and the best Granny to her grandchildren, who could do no wrong in her eyes. She loved her family, was a great cook, and enjoyed reading and watching old movies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruth Griffin and 2 brothers, Kenneth Griffin and Jesse Griffin.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Norman of the home; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy Norman of Walters and Clint Norman and Amy of Walters; 2 brothers, David Griffin and Joy of Walters and Steve Griffin and Jane of Wylie, TX; a sister, Ellen Newby of Duncan; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Casey, Andrew, Peyton, Hadyn, Jacob, and Keyvin; 8 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
