Kenneth Weir

Funeral Services at Connection Church, Duncan, OK on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Gary Thurman officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK with burial in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. 

Visitation on Tuesday Evening from 5:00-6:30 p.m.                                                                                                                  Viewing on Tuesday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

Kenneth Earl Weir was born to Mary Ann (Chumley) and Albert Morgan Weir on June 4, 1963 in Lawton, OK and departed this life in Edmond, OK on October 14, 2023 at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 10 days.

Kenneth grew up at Walters, OK, graduating from WHS in 1983. Early on he did harvesting with Calvin Weir and then worked for Jimmy Ray Stover, hauling module builders with Dusty Keenan. He married Elizabeth Nickerson on March 13, 1987 in Florence, AL. He drove a delivery truck for Comanche Lumber until the couple moved to Alabama where he built homes with brother Edwin. They returned to Oklahoma in 1996 and he did custom hay cutting and baling. In 2000 he began driving a truck for Halliburton. 15 years later he began driving a truck for Rowdy Resources and later TDC, hauling freight across the central United States. Kenneth was also engaged in farming and ranching throughout the years. 

He was a member of Beaver Creek Cowboy Church. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing, reloading ammo and target shooting. He also enjoyed cooking and was known for his carrot cake and brownies. His life was all about family and friends, and especially loved time with his wife, kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by an unborn son, Kenneth Earl Weir, Jr., and his in-laws, Elmer and Annagene Nickerson.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; 3 children, Terral Douglas Rather of Norfolk, VA, Suzannahe Tyna Smith and Ben of Duncan, OK, and Jonathan Keith Weir of Comanche, OK; 4 grandchildren, Benji Smith of Duncan, Hadley Smith of Collinsville, OK, Theodore Asher Weir of Comanche, OK and Ezekiel Lee Weir of Comanche; his parents, Albert and Mary Weir of Rogersville, AL; 2 brothers, Edwin Morgan Weir and Gina of Rogersville, AL, Christopher Hamilton Weir and Bobby Sue of Americus, GA; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
