A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Devol, OK at Noon on Sunday, April 7, 2024 with Rev. Justin Cardwell officiating.
Larry Wayne Fincher was born to George Thomas and Melba Ruth (Hardin) Fincher on December 7, 1950 in Dallas, TX and departed this life in Devol, OK on March 15, 2024 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Larry grew up in Amarillo, but his fond memories were of visits to grandma’s house in Devol. After high school in Amarillo, he served his country honorably in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps. He then worked 20 years as a long-haul trucker and eventually became a correctional officer for the State of Texas at Allred. He made his home as an adult in Salado, TX, Cookietown, OK and then on to Devol.
Larry married Michelle Louise Tomlinson Fincher on May 28, 2023 in Devol, OK. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Devol, where he loved serving the Lord. He enjoyed nature, gardening, fishing, hiking, hunting for artifacts and arrowheads. He loved animals and his dogs were his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Wendall Thomas Fincher and wife, Berl Dean, and Sam Fincher; a niece and nephew, Shelia Norman and James Thomas Fincher.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle, of the home; a son, Dusty Fincher and Cindi of Corpus Christi, TX; a sister, Debra Weatherbee and Jim of Amarillo; a niece, Sherri See and Kenny of Mesquite, TX; several great nieces, nephews and friends.
