A Committal Service will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK on Friday afternoon, Rev. Jeff Hooser Officiating.
Linda Louise Logan was born to RJ and Margaret Ellen (Watson) Kidd on December 19, 1946 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 28, 2025 at the age of 79 years and 9 days.
Linda grew up at Walters but for a year at Grandview and a year in Altus. She graduated from Walters High School in 1965 and then attended a year at Southwestern. She returned to Walters and took a job with Civil Service at Fort Sill around 1966. She married Donald James Logan on September 15, 1978 in Walters. They moved to Marlow in 1979 and she continued working at Fort Sill until the couple moved to Moore in 1986. While there she worked in Oklahoma City for the Social Security Administration until 1995 when she and Don both retired. In 1998 they built a new home at Canton. Linda returned to Walters in May of this year.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and most recently enjoyed attending the First Christian Church in Walters. She enjoyed studying her Bible, reading books, going out to eat, cross stitch and crochet. She and Don enjoyed yearly trips to Colorado, trips to South Texas, and bus trips to Washington DC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Logan in 2023; her parents, RJ and Margaret Kidd; her sister, Sharon Thurman; her brother-in-law, Stan Brown; her sister-in-law, Carleen Herring; her nephew, Terry Herring.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Brown of Gore, OK; 3 stepchildren, Wade Logan and Jackie of Fletcher, OK, Eric Logan and Barbara of Elgin, OK, and LeAnn Strickland and Mike of Ardmore, OK; her grandchildren, Ty Logan and Kera of Walters, OK, Jamie Logan of Edmond, OK, Kaitlin Logan-Melvin and Andy of Edmond, OK, Landry Logan and Maggie of Edmond, OK, McKall Morris of Ardmore, OK, Baylor McDaniel and Amber of Yukon, OK; great grandchildren, Halle, Ryder, and Trip Hanson, Tucker Heinz and Ivy Morris, Witten and Libby Logan; a sister-in-law, Geneva Hawkins and Howard of Walters; a brother-in-law, Gary Thurman of Walters; her nieces and nephews, Dustin and Bridget Thurman of Walters, Nic Thurman of Wichita Falls, TX, Kally Brown of Gore, OK, Kerry Brown of Norman, Shelly Penrod of Walters, Jaret Hawkins of Walters; great nieces and nephews, Kenzie Thurman, Nathan Thurman, Katy Anderson and husband Landon, Konner Pollock, Madison Pollock and Ethan Pollock; many other beloved relatives and friends.
