Lorita passed away April 15, 2026 at her home, surrounded by family and a dedicated team of caregivers.

Lorita Murl (Harper) Clark was born February 20, 1941, in Grandfield, OK to Milton Harper and Lola (Smith) Harper. She grew up in the Ahpeatone Community west of Walters, attending school at Ahpeatone and Lawton, graduating from Lawton Senior High School in 1959. She married Ed Clark

on June 28th, 1959 in Walters, OK. Ed and Lorita moved their family to Hooker, OK in 1968.

Lorita was a homemaker for many years raising two daughters, Brenda and Beverly. After the girls were raised, She went back to school, graduating from Seward County Community College, Liberal, KS with an Associate Degree in Nursing in1983. Lorita worked in healthcare as an RN for many years, including Long Term Care facilities and hospitals in Guymon, OK, Hugoton, KS and Liberal, KS. In 2000, Ed and Lorita moved back to Lawton, OK to spend their retirement years with family and longtime friends.

Lorita had a passion for anything involving yarn, fabric and/or embroidery thread. She was talented with many kinds of needles, from knitting needles to sewing needles to quilting needles. She never took a road trip without her knitting bag in the front floorboard of the car. She could knit as fast as Ed could drive, about 90 miles an hour. Her handwork was always completed with precision and flair, and was loved by family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Walker Clark, Devil’s Elbow, MO and Beverly Clark, Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren, Clarissa Barks, Devil’s Elbow, MO, Russell Walker and wife Mayumi, Frankfurt, Germany and Randall Walker and wife Kecia, Molalla, OR; and 10 great-grandchildren, Leo, Annika, Arlo, Gordon, Owen, Jet, Lorelai, Dax, Eleanora, and Emma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Lola Harper; husband, Ed Clark; and a great-granddaughter, Robin Elizabeth Barks.
