Loyd Fletcher

Loyd Donald Fletcher was born to Jimmy Lee and Virginia Gladys (King) Fletcher on September 28, 1938 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on October 22, 2023 at the age of 85 years and 24 days.

Loyd grew up at Walters, never to leave. He graduated from Walters High School in 1957, working at the Walters Co-Op as a teen. He farmed from a young age and instead of a car his first vehicle was a tractor. Loyd also worked at Cotton Electric for 40 years and learning to fly a plane in the mid 1960’s, he did crop dusting for many years, as well as owned a passenger plane.

He was a member of Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church at Duncan. He enjoyed hunting, shooting trap and fishing, hosting many fish fries through the years. Loyd also enjoyed smoking meat, eating, and hanging out with his buddy Bently.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Lee and Virginia Fletcher, and a sister, Norma McDonald

Survivors include his wife, Reba Fletcher of the home; his daughter, Sherry and grandkids, Ashley and Jeremy; his brother, Leon Fletcher and Linda of Comanche; his step-kids, Missie Langford, Jimmie Sanders and Katherine, Tracey Sanders and Patty, Robby Sanders and Lisa; his step-grandkids, Lauren, Dalton, Kelsy, Kammy and Kaden; his great grandkids, Jude, Bently, Brodix, C.J. and Harper; other relatives and friends.
