Funeral Services at Randlett Baptist Church, Randlett, OK, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., Joe Coombes officiating with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Randlett under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK.

Luther Daniel (“D.D”) Adams was born in Randlett, Oklahoma, to Shelburn Wesley and Venola Bartlett Adams on December 16,1951, as the sixth of seven children. He grew up in Randlett, Oklahoma, and graduated from Big Pasture High School in 1970. From a young age, he worked in his father’s shop where he developed his lifelong passion for tractor repair and restoration.

He worked as a service manager and tractor repairman for various John Deere establishments and also owned/operated his own repair business throughout his career. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cameron University in May of 1999.

He was a member of Randlett Baptist Church where he accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. He married Gwen Marie (Reid) Stoddard on August 6, 1996, in Burkburnett, Texas. Together, they enjoyed many years with their children and grandchildren, traveled frequently and shared their love and passion for animals of all kinds.

D.D. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family dearly and had a zest for life. He was known for his infectious laugh, contagious smile and positive attitude. He was well-respected in the agricultural community in Oklahoma and Texas for his work ethic and extensive knowledge of tractors and machines.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Adams, of the home; his son Brad Adams and his wife, Ni Adams, of Midland, Texas and daughter Stephanie Taylor of Elgin, Oklahoma; stepsons, Brian Stoddard and his wife, Paige, of Richardson, Texas and Michael Stoddard of Washington, DC; and stepdaughter Brigette Tisdale and husband Tyson, of Burkburnett, Texas; his brother, James Adams and wife Marilyn of Hensley, Arkansas and sister, Betty Williams of Randlett, Oklahoma; his sisters-in-law, Johnnie Miller and Kathy Baughman of Grandfield, Oklahoma, and Shirley Deere of Burkburnett, Texas; grandchildren Taylor Tisdale and wife Kelsey of Weatherford, Texas, Brennon Tisdale of San Antonio, Texas; Jatelyn Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jadyn Tisdale of Burkburnett, Texas; Colin Stoddard of Richardson, Texas; Brody Adams and Aden Adams of Midland, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Graysen Tisdale of Weatherford, Texas; and various nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

D.D.went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelburn and Venola Adams, sisters Martha Fletcher and Shirley Adams and brother-in-law John Conrad Adams, and brothers Pat Adams and Michael Adams.
