Lynn Plant

Funeral Services at Waurika Faith Fellowship, Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., Pastors Curtis and Bryan Plant officiating. Burial in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK. 

Henry Lynn Plant was born to Henry Ford Plant and Ada Mae (Bright) Plant in Waurika, OK on July 2, 1947 and departed this life in Waurika on January 6, 2020 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 4 days.

Lynn grew up in Oklahoma City and then to Moore where he completed 7th-12th grades, graduating from Moore High School in 1965. He married Joyce Ann Unsell on June 4, 1966 in Newcastle, OK and to the union 2 sons were born. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Rockwell in Bethany and then for Bell Helicopter and later General Dynamics in Fort Worth, TX.

Lynn had been called to the ministry at age 16 and did youth work part-time while working on aircraft. In 1974 he felt God’s call to full-time ministry and was ordained with The Assemblies of God, and later ordained with The Independent Assemblies of God. After several moves the couple settled back in Waurika in 2005, where Lynn was currently still serving as pastor at Waurika Faith Fellowship.

He enjoyed studying his Bible, watching gospel singing on TV along with westerns and boxing. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and making knives. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids, as well as his church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Kimberly Plant of Waurika, Bryan and Wendy Plant of Duncan, OK; 4 grandchildren and spouses, Joachim Plant of Duncan, Lauren Hobbs and Jason of Waurika, Tyler Plant of Waurika, Sapphira Christian and Colton of Marlow, OK; 3 great-grandchildren, Landon Perry, Ciel Christian and one on the way, Jayleigh Hobbs; 2 aunts, Ethel Anthony of Waurika and Stella Heemer of Houston; other relatives and many friends.
