Marlin Elwood Mallow

December 4, 1948 — November 14, 2025

Lawton

Marlin Elwood Mallow passed away peacefully at his home in Lawton, OK on Friday November 14, 2025. A Memorial service to Celebrate his life will be held at the Mallow Farm, 40775 ECR 1590, Wynnewood, OK on Saturday December 6, 2025, at 2 pm.

Marlin was born December 4, 1948, to Elwood and Becky Mallow in Lawton OK. He grew up in Geronimo OK and graduated high School in 1967. He earned a Basketball scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant where he would attend 1 year until the rodeo drew him away. He spent some time as a Rodeo Clown until he joined the National Guard Reserves. Once he was home, he followed his big brother David into the grocery business. He then apprenticed as a Plumber and that was his lifelong career.

Marlin was married twice; he had 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He would later be nicknamed Fish Daddy by his grandkids. He was a man of integrity, laughter, and kindness. He had the biggest heart for people and OU Softball. You could always find him at home watching a game when they played. I can’t confirm this, but he may have had Patty’s personal number. He had a heart of gold and he loved BIG. He never met a stranger. His door was never locked, always open to anyone that needed a place to lay their head.

Marlin bought his home in 2006, and the Looney Bin was open for business. Anyone and everyone were welcome, especially the outlaws and the crazies!! He was so proud of that home and out of it came his Ministry for God. People from the outside may not have seen it as a ministry but God sure did. It was where he welcomed anyone that needed shelter from their storms in life. He would give them whatever they needed even if it meant he did without. Everyone that entered his home became a part of his extended family. Growing up in a big family (11 siblings) he always loved having people around that he could entertain and make them laugh. Fish Daddy loved listening to music and singing. Alexa was his best friend later in life. He was always up for a good time and a good laugh. There was never a dull moment around him, he was going to tell you a story or sing you a song or crack a joke to make you laugh.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Becky and Elwood Mallow; his son, Jason Kyle Mallow; his sister and brother-in-law, Cerita and Thurman Toombs; his brother Roger Mallow; his brother and sister-in-law David and Sherry Mallow; his stepmother Helen Mallow and brother-in-law Dean Martin.
